The Endeavour 40 was built in Florida by the Endeavour Yacht Corporation between 1981 and 1985 (with 185 examples built in total). There was a Charter version and an Owners version (such as this one depicted here which had a slightly taller mast, an inner stay making her cutter rigged and extra winches). A ketch version was also available.
In the popular 80s TV show 'Miami Vice', main character James 'Sonny' Crockett (played by Don Johnson) lives on one of these in the 1st season called the 'St Vitus Dance'. From the 2nd season onwards, he would live on the slightly bigger model, an Endeavour 42.
