CLASSIC YACHTS

She is a 32ft bermudan ketch (based on a Colin Archer design) built in 1963 in Bombay, India. She would rise to fame when, in 1968, her owner and builder Sir Robin Knox-Johnston entered her into the Sunday Times Golden Globe yacht race taking place that year, the first non-stop solo around the world yacht race.
After a gruelling 312 days and close to 30 000 nautical miles at sea, Knox-Johnston in SUHAILI would end up winning the race and became the first person ever to complete a single handed, non stop circumnavigation of the planet (he would also be the only competitor to finish the race out of the 9 people who entered).
Knox-Johnston still owns and sails her to this day.
